After many failed attempts due to poor weather, this past Saturday we were finally able to conduct our annual Scout Service day at Newtown Congregational Church. Troop 270 took advantage of a fantastic spring morning to give back to our sponsor organization. Scouts and adult leaders completed numerous projects on the Church grounds, including:
Memorial garden weeding and cleanup
Maintenance and installation of new memorial bricks
Resetting the front railings
Re-stacking and covering up fire wood
Our sponsor organization, Newtown Congregational Church was of course grateful. But, our scouts, leaders, and parents are far more appreciative of their ongoing support and allowing us the use of their facilities and grounds. Saturday proved this continues to be a great partnership. Scroll through the pictures in the collage to see all of the activities.
