On Thursday, the day started with an official change of adult leadership as Mr. Child handed the Scoutmaster duties off to Mr. Hoyack. We thank Mr. Child for dedicating immeasurable hours and care in leadership of our scouts over the last two years, and equally thank Mr. Hoyack for taking on this important responsibility (2nd non-consecutive term)!
The fun continued on Thursday with Merit Badge work and camp wide activities as you can see in the photos posted below. Some highlights include:
Animation MB (Sandor, Fintan, Kevin, Tristan)
Woodcarving MB (Logan)
Entrepreneurship MB (Sam, Sebastian)
Geology MB (Ben, Cameron, Simon, EthanM, Tristan)
Archery MB (Fintan, Kevin)
Friendship Fire!
and...our dedicated SPL Cameron staying up with a light in his tent to finish paperwork
The day ended with a memorable Friendship Fire with more than 2/3 of the camp staff attending. Our scouts entertained them with skits and songs, while we fed them freshly made donuts. They thanked us with their own skits and songs. It was a really fantastic event.
We are nearing the end of our journey at Camp Sequassen this year, but we first are looking forward to a full day on Friday. The highlight will be Land and Sea games, where we will compete alongside our co-troop from Royal Wood, Troop 4070 of Saratoga Springs, NY.
I'm sure our scouts have thoughts of cool air and warm showers but first off to the games!
