Summer Camp- final wrap up and photo blast

Greetings Troop 270!

I hope everyone has had a restful week since the end of summer camp. I want to take this opportunity to offer one final thank you to those who helped to make it happen. In no particular order, many thanks to the following individuals:

-Mrs. Tenezaca for doing the lion's share of the health form review and submission

-Mr. Hoyack for helping our SPL Henry plan and prep for camp, and for his tireless leadership across the board

-Mr. Blatter for spending an entire week at camp and for the effort put into the amazing blog posts

-Mr. Ladanyi for spending two nights as a leader at camp and for towing the trailer to and from camp

-Messrs. (that's the plerual of Mr.- I had to look it up 😁) McCoy, O'Neil, and Renzi for spending several nights each as leaders at camp. Along with Messrs. Ladanyi, Blatter and myself, we had a fantastic leadership team as has always been the case with our awesome troop.

-Mr. Child for organizing the tee shirt orders for our camp participants

And especially to our SPL Henry. Only a few of us got to see the time and planning that he put into making this a fun and successful week at camp for everyone. And once on site, the SPL's job is one of constant re-assessment and adjustment. As the troop's initial goal of going for Supertroop slipped away, a new goal emerged - MAXIMUM FUN!! And based on all the feedback I've seen from both scouts and leaders, that objective was achieved with great success.

This year was the first time I spent an entire week at camp, and it really is a unique experience. Being a leader at summer camp allows for us as leaders to grow as a team and as individuals. The opportunity to watch the scouts thrive, struggle, persevere, and just plain enjoy themselves over the course of a full week is incredibly rewarding. I hope your scouts enjoyed the experience as much as I did.

If I have forgotten to thank someone, please accept my apologies. I hope you enjoy this final photo drop from Friday and Saturday at camp. Having the opportunity to use my new camera and telephoto lens was one final highpoint for me. If anyone would like a high resolution version of any of my photos, please let me know.

Warmest regards - Mr. Linnetz
