Climb Time with Troop 270

As I sit here in the break room at the Rock Spot Climbing Gym in Wallingford just after midnight, the rest of the troop is (hopefully) sound asleep just outside the door in the climbing gym- their sleeping bags laid out on the padded floor at the base of the climbing and bouldering walls.

We've had busy night of climbing, with checkin and orientation just after 7pm and lights out not until around 11:45 pm, with some scouts still climbing right up until 11:20 pm!

We had a great pair of staff members helping us make the most of our evening, including Joe who is a track coach at Bethel HS. Fintan and Kevin- he will see you at practice at 8 am tomorrow morning (or more accurately this morning). Joe was great and really got behind our scouts encouraging them to fight through the struggle and reach the top of the wall.

I hope you enjoy the selection of pictures from the evening showing our scouts and leaders enjoying the various climbing walls (auto-belay and actual human belay) and bouldering walls, including some impressive inverted climbs by Donald and Danny.

And be sure to watch the time lapse below showing Mr. Hoyack adeptly navigating the high wood beam after climbing the cargo net- it's the embodiment of pure grace.

Best,

Mr. Linnetz
