Camp- Day 3- We will not be deterred (by the rain)

With the second full day of merit badge sessions upon us, everyone starts to settle in to the familiar daily routine. Breakfast, morning sessions, lunch, afternoon session, 3-5 pm free time, dinner, then 7-9 pm (or later) evening sessions.

Today the first year scouts learned about flag etiquette, including how to raise, lower, and properly fold the flag. Other sessions our scouts have include first aid, motorboating, auto maintenance, SUP, kayaking (it was capsize your boat day), rowing, welding, and leatherworking. As for yesterday, some thunder and rain rolled in mid day, but then passed in time for all activities to run during 3-5 pm free time, including the waterfront. Scouts took advantage of open shoot at the rifle range, special projects at leatherworking, and of course the water front. The rain came back again (without the thunder) for dinner and most of the evening, but activites proceeded as scheduled, including axe throwing, the sequassen relay (a run, then canoe, then canoe and swim race), cowboy action rifle shooting, and even more open swim time from 7-9. And with an extra dose of scout spirit, Aiden attended the Astronomy walk starting at 8:30 pm and going unitl almost 11 pm! Given the weather, the walk pivots to a night sky projection on the ceiling of one of the buildings with explanations of the origins of the constellations.

I'm having difficulty uploading images this evening, and I was only able to upload a handful of pics. I'll try again tomorrow from the main office. The wi-fi seems to be just too unstable to consistently upload images.
